LinkedIn
At least 20,000 U.S. companies have used LinkedIn to recruit employees. The professional network has 11 million active job listings. Do not overlook this resource in your job hunting. Here on some tips on how to make the most of LinkedIn:

  •  Add keywords to your profile to help recruiters and companies find you. Focus on words that match your skill set.
  • Set up a LinkedIn vanity URL to include your first and last name. This makes it easier to find you on Google.
  • Keep your contact information up to date so recruiters and hiring managers can find you.
  • Remove unnecessary or outdated information from your experience section.
  • Show your achievements. Recruiters look for high performers. Market yourself as a high performer in your summary and experience section.
  • Find and use connections. The more connections you have, the better your chances of finding someone who can help with your job search. The goal is to maintain or establish relationships with people who are in your field or whom you are already connected with.
  • Utilize job search options. Search for jobs by keyword, country, and zip code. Use the Advanced Search Option to refine your search. You can save job searches and even receive emails about new job listings.
  • Use LinkedIn company profiles to learn about employers and find more information on a company you're interested in. Consider following your dream companies.
